What?
Septagon Studios originally started as a publishing company back in early 2003 by Nicola Defina along with his two cousins, Philip Defina and Domenic Defina. Septagon Studios is a company focused on imaginative, innovative properties and concepts. We stand for creator freedom and artistic integrity. Versatility is the best word to define Septagon Studios. The Septagon Studios Comic Blog has been online in some form or another since 2004 as an extension of our publishing arm but has since evolved into an online journal of explorations into comic culture, comic resources and comic news. It still continues to evolve to this day and it won’t stop. There is just too much interesting, inspiring, mindboggling stuff going on in comics and we want to talk about it with you. We also want you to talk about it with us (learn how you can contribute) . This blog will be dedicated to bringing you inspirational, useful and fresh info on the following topics; comic art, comic writing, comic publishing, comic resources, digital comics, webcomics, comic technology, comic blogging and comic business. Nick Defina is the President and co-founder of Septagon Studios Inc. (est. 2003) and Work In Comics (est. 2009) Has an undying passion for comics since the age of 7. He has grown with a diverse background and knowledge of the industry. He’s a self taught webdesign enthusiast and social network addict. He contributes to both the Work In Comics Blog and Septagon Studios Comic Blog. His focus has always been independent comics and small press publishing. Philip Defina
Philip Defina is the Art Director and co-founder of Septagon Studios Inc. (est. 2003) and Work In Comics (est. 2009) He is a design junkie with a passion for contemporary and graphic arts, photography, and architecture. He`s also a contributing writer for the Septagon Comic Blog with articles that focus on inspiration, art, and productivity. Domenic Defina
Domenic Defina is the Art/Marketing Consultant and co-founder of Septagon Studios Inc. (est. 2003) and Work In Comics (est. 2009). He has a background in the Fine Arts with an avid interest in contemporary comic art, writing, publishing and everything digital comics. Dr. Park Cooper is the Editor-in-Chief of Septagon Studios, Inc. and Editor-in-Chief of website www.mangalife.com . Dave Baxter
Dave Baxter worked as a comic book journalist with Broken Frontier for 4 years before moving on to work minor positions at the production companies Spacedog Entertainment and Studio 407. In early 2009 Dave co-founded Robot Comics – the first publisher (not distributor!) dedicated solely to mobile markets and shepherding original mobile works. He has also worked freelance as an editor for small press comic companies and currently co-writes Gillian’s Heart with his long-time girlfriend of 8 years and counting. Joshua Pantalleresco
Joshua Pantalleresco is a writer. He loves comics of all kinds He is currently working on comics, short films, and various fiction and non fiction enterprises. The first film he worked on, Trafford Road, is available to watch online here – http://vimeo.com/107 .
He has published poetry, essays, reviews and fiction in various magazines, online and his own book I Am… He is currently working on a sequel to his poetry and his first novel.
