  • Re-Ignition #1: Discovering and Re-Discovering

Welcome to the (official) first column of Re-ignition. This is a column about discovering and rediscovering the passion of this great hobby. Comics have been an important part of my life ever since I was eight years old. I’ve always been grateful for the things comics have given me, and intend to repay in kind. [...]

  • Killing The Grizzly #4: The Digital Comics Business Model

The Digital Comics Business Model – Getting Started I struggled with whether I should actually call this article “The Digital Comics Business Model”, because, ultimately, EVERY single Killing the Grizzly article will be precisely this, and what’s the point of having to sub-subtitle every article because I stupidly choose too overly-generic a main subtitle (KILLING THE [...]

  • The Septagon Briefing #7: Writing

Septagon asked me if I might consider writing something about actually writing a comic, especially for those who are new at writing comic scripts. My wife and I got our first comic script from the back of a Sandman graphic novel, and then later a major big name comic book writer showed us a script [...]

  • Killing the Grizzly #3: Life After Diamond

PART 1 – EVERYONE PASSES “GO”: THE BREAKING OF A MONOPOLY “THE HIBERNATION PERIOD IS OVER, IT’S TIME TO MAKE SOME SOUP. The bear has awakened, and it needs to be killed. Not later, now. Or some comics creators or going to die.” KILLING THE GRIZZLY was going to focus on a far different topic [...]

  • The Septagon Briefing #3: Career Paths

Found in my local library system: –Cool Careers Without College for People Who Love Manga, Comics, And Animation (Cool Careers Without College series) (Library Binding) Just from the title, I was provoked to think about the whole issue. “Is the point of this,” I wondered, “to get kids excited about this stuff before they even [...]

  • Fourth Panel Estate #6: All Star Demon Tea Party

Before we begin this week a public service announcement: Fuck you National Express Rail. So it’s been one of those weeks. Fortunately it’s been made all the more bearable by Gunnerkrigg Court which has had me laughing quietly to my self in public places for days after I blitzed the archives. This made the local, [...]

Addicted to Action Figures?

Some people are addicted to coffee while others are addicted to smoking. Well, not this guy! I want you to meet Mr. Action Figure Man. No that’s not his name or alias, his real name is Charles Alleneck. Charles is an animator at Industrial Light & Magic on the 2007 live-action Transformers movie. He has worked on high-profile effects-heavy motion pictures such as Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. He also appeared as himself on an effects documentary on the Revenge of the Sith DVD. As I stumbled on to this article I remember thinking of all the action figures I had as a kid which was like maybe 4 or 5, and at that time I thought I had a lot. Boy was I wrong! What makes his collection so amazing is how clean and organized everything is. Almost as if everything has its rightful place. Check out the photos below to view the monstrosity of Charles Alleneck’s collection.

I guess it’s safe to say that Charles Alleneck is an Action Figure Junkie who may just need an intervention. Whatever the case may be Charles has one of the most crazy action figure collections I have ever seen.

What are your thoughts on this mega collection? Have you seen any other cool collections, whether it be comics, toys, or video games let us know, just provide the link in your comments. We’re interested in seeing who has the biggest collection.
