  • Re-Ignition #1: Discovering and Re-Discovering

Welcome to the (official) first column of Re-ignition. This is a column about discovering and rediscovering the passion of this great hobby. Comics have been an important part of my life ever since I was eight years old. I’ve always been grateful for the things comics have given me, and intend to repay in kind. [...]

  • Killing The Grizzly #4: The Digital Comics Business Model

The Digital Comics Business Model – Getting Started I struggled with whether I should actually call this article “The Digital Comics Business Model”, because, ultimately, EVERY single Killing the Grizzly article will be precisely this, and what’s the point of having to sub-subtitle every article because I stupidly choose too overly-generic a main subtitle (KILLING THE [...]

Or some comics creators or going to die.” KILLING THE GRIZZLY was going to focus on a far different topic [...]

  • The Septagon Briefing #3: Career Paths

Found in my local library system: –Cool Careers Without College for People Who Love Manga, Comics, And Animation (Cool Careers Without College series) (Library Binding) Just from the title, I was provoked to think about the whole issue. “Is the point of this,” I wondered, “to get kids excited about this stuff before they even [...]

  • Promotionally Speaking #4 – Should I or Shouldn’t I?

In our last visit, I shared with you my favorite social networking sites. This month, as promised, we will discuss the Do’s & Don’ts when participating in these sites. Keep in mind these tricks of the trade are geared toward promoting a product, whether it be comics or not. I encourage you to pay close [...]

  • Fourth Panel Estate #6: All Star Demon Tea Party

Before we begin this week a public service announcement: Fuck you National Express Rail. So it’s been one of those weeks. Fortunately it’s been made all the more bearable by Gunnerkrigg Court which has had me laughing quietly to my self in public places for days after I blitzed the archives. This made the local, [...]
