Welcome to the (official) first column of Re-ignition. This is a column about discovering and rediscovering the passion of this great hobby. • Killing The Grizzly #4: The Digital Comics Business Model

The Digital Comics Business Model – Getting Started I struggled with whether I should actually call this article “The Digital Comics Business Model”, because, ultimately, EVERY single Killing the Grizzly article will be precisely this, and what’s the point of having to sub-subtitle every article because I stupidly choose too overly-generic a main subtitle (KILLING THE [...]

  • The Septagon Briefing #7: Writing

Septagon asked me if I might consider writing something about actually writing a comic, especially for those who are new at writing comic scripts. My wife and I got our first comic script from the back of a Sandman graphic novel, and then later a major big name comic book writer showed us a script [...]

  • Killing the Grizzly #3: Life After Diamond

PART 1 – EVERYONE PASSES “GO”: THE BREAKING OF A MONOPOLY “THE HIBERNATION PERIOD IS OVER, IT’S TIME TO MAKE SOME SOUP. The bear has awakened, and it needs to be killed. Not later, now. Found in my local library system: –Cool Careers Without College for People Who Love Manga, Comics, And Animation (Cool Careers Without College series) (Library Binding) Just from the title, I was provoked to think about the whole issue. “Is the point of this,” I wondered, “to get kids excited about this stuff before they even [...]

  • Fourth Panel Estate #6: All Star Demon Tea Party

Before we begin this week a public service announcement: Fuck you National Express Rail. So it’s been one of those weeks. Septagon Studios Releases Archeologists Of Shadows Digital Graphic Novel

It all started a while back when Septagon Studios was approached with a submission sent to us all the way from Spain that literally knocked us out of our seats. It had an immersive story with incredible artwork that was unlike anything we had ever seen before. Over the last year, we’ve been working with the creators of AOS, along with Septagon Studios Editor in Chief Preston Park Cooper, to adapt the story and prepare it for a North American graphic novel release. It’s been an awesome ride so far, and it’s time that we officially introduce everyone to Archeologists Of Shadows and its creators.

Archeologists Of Shadows is set in a world where every living thing is becoming mechanical. Some think that the phenomenon is the will of the gods, and so the Authorities punish those who resist the transformation, although all wonder about the real reason for the changes.

Archeologists Of Shadows, Volume 1: The Resistance, is a graphic novel that has been in development for more than five years. Writer Lara Fuentes and artist Patricio Clarey, based out of Spain, have collaborated with Septagon Studios to publish A.O.S., with editing and adaptation by Preston Park Cooper. It contains over 100 pages of immersive story and art that combine drawing, sculpture, photography, photo manipulation and digital painting.

Early reviews are describing Archeologists Of Shadows as:

“An original story coupled with some of the most ethereal and stunning artwork to ever grace a comic book panel”Jason Moore SciFiMafia.com

“Behind powerful and imaginative writing and artistic prowess that lends itself to film, Archeologists of Shadows may in fact be the most intriguing independent comic book released this year.”Patrick Hickey Jr. ReviewFix.com

“Archeologists Of Shadows combines great writing with magnificent art”Michael Nimmo 3millionyears.co.uk

This edition includes the first 4 chapters along with an art book that documents the making of Archeologists Of Shadows. It is available digitally for your computer, iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Android devices for only $0.99 on Graphicly.com.
